Need a bit of advice with regards to choosing a new awning. We are after a porch awning and not sure what type to buy.
I would prefer a traditional type awning and OH would prefer a lightweight one.
We would be using the awning all year so need something that would stand up to all types of weather and is easy to put up as I have a back problem.... so OH and son would be erecting it. We would be using the awning for chairs, table, wet clothes, boots, dogs....
Hi Sue you will get all sorts of answers to this because a lot of people think theirs is the best. Decide on your budget first as you can spend a few hundred up to a couple of thousand. A lot of people seem to go for a 2nd hand Isabella as they are probably about the best awning but are very expensive. Others prefer brand new.
Have a look here If I were after a porch I would buy the one that is buy it now for £295 rather than risk missing them all, I was lucky last November I paid £200 for one but I have not seen one go so cheaply since then. We used it for the first time last week and could comfortably sit out in it on the two lafumas, mind you if my van would have taken one without it covering part of a window I would have bought the Major porch, that extra little bit of room is very useful.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
Thanks Bill..... had a look will show OH when he is back from work..... I really do like the Isabella make and one of the three was in Preston so not to far away.
Dont get a PDQ - just do a search ont he forums as I dont want to start a debate..
Anyway, we have a Sunncamp Vision SE - its got 3 poles and its very lightweight, its taken some serious winds and is easy to erect (ooer) and a lot of room - well enough for a bench and chairs.
Dont be tempted to spend silly money, a porch is bought cause you dont want to be p**sing around with a full awning - we have one and I hate it with a passion. If you start with the dorema porches you are almost putting up a full one, the little tent style ones are far better and do the job fine. I got my Vision for £99!

Just be careful that with several bidders for that awning that the price does not go above the £325 that the other one would cost you delivered.
