Our Saga policy is due for renewal soon; I see that the Caravan Club offers slightly cheaper insurance, but does anyone have any thoughs on which insurance is best (not necessarily cheapest).

I‘ve just renewed our caravan club insurance and saved £60! by increasing voluntary excess and finding out that having a lower contents figure than the standard was actually more expensive!

We switched to caravan club insurance several years ago, as we liked their new for old policy. Perhaps if you compare what they offer?

Saves us about £30 but that's without increasing the excess. Think I will ask OH what he would rather do. Thanks for the info.

Hmmm we had to join the Caravan Club in order to have their insurance, is that not the case any more then as a poster above says they have it without being members?

I thought you had to be a member of the club. Ive just insured with them, was with caravan and camping cub but they took a while to get our claim sorted. They were ok though. My friend claimed with the Caravan Club and they got sorted really quickly!!

There are so many options of cover. New for old or market value etc. etc.

Our van is too old for "new for old" we found good value basic cover with Caravanwise.

When you get your renewal from Saga be sure to shop around for other quotes generally they will be cheaper. Take the lowest quote & tell Saga to price match, they always do.
