hi all just a quick bit of advice needed can i put fendox in my flush water tank for my toilet for some reason cant find any pink chemicals anywhere and wondered if this will be ok thanks

Why would you want to put anything in your flush water tank? We don't put anything in our toilet systems at home. Can't see the point.

my oh says it smells better think it has another chemical in to help the breaking down process does it not??? i may be wrong but we use pink in our flush too and you rtoilet at home doesnt empty in to an 18 litre tank in the van it flushes away could be a diference i guess but in answer to your question never heard of the stuff you have sorry lol

We don't use anything extra in the flush tank either. Works for us.

We put some sort of fluid (can't remember the name off-hand!)in the flush tank - reasons?
Just my own opinion (probably wrong

), but -
1. it (probably) stops any build up of algae/stagnation/whatever in the flush tank itself;
and
2. at home, toilets are (usually?) porcelain and much more "non-stick" - caravan toilets are plastic, and what you "deposit" might tend to cling - the extra cleansing fluid in the flush tank helps to break the adhesion......

thats exactley the reason for it gram its fine and dandy if everyone manages to aim into the hole in the bottom but i have two small boys and they dont always manage to do that i dont know about everyone else but i clean my toilet at home with disinfectant under the rim and sometimes bleach overnight so putting a disinfectant into the flush water makes sure all the toilet is clean all the way round and keeps it disinfected fendox is just a all round cleaner made by fenwicks if people dont use pink chemical in there flush water then thats up to you but i do and just want to know if fendox will do it any harm

I will admit that after the winter there are a few black bits floating down the loo but after a couple of flushes they are all gone.

We use the Fendox for cleaning, but I never thought of putting it in the flush tank.

The "pink" is supposed to be more for lubricating the seals and the bowl as Gram said.

Some people have found that the pink in the flush tank actually encourages the "black bits".

The reason we don't use pink in the flush is that we are not used to doing so. Our previous van did not have a flush tank, it drew the water directly from the Aquaroll. We found this fine in operation, so have continued using just plain water.

Ours was the same in the MH. Used it from the tank. I have got a spray can that lubricates the plastic working parts.

When you flush the loo at home it's away and gone ... probably miles. When you flush the loo in the van it's away and gone ... about a foot. Good reason for some whiffy loo additive!

Some smell better than others, I find the Aqua Chem blue whiffy enough!

better not use anything . let bacteria build up in the cassette. biggest problems seem to be the fault of blue or green added to cassette it doesnt let nature work its cause . big problems in sewage works in cornwall in summer too much blue etc . use a drop of vinegar works a treat .
