Am very taken with these dinky little caravans (OK, maybe a bed on wheels is a better description!) and was wondering if anyone has got/had one and can share their experiences?

Need something VERY light, easy to store and somewhere warm and cosy to sleep.

Can anyone help??

Thanks in advance,
Helen xx

Helen,

Have a look on Ebay they have some good prices. I like them too very cute. Also have a look at You Tube they have loads of videos showing you everything you need to know.

Thanks Donna

just sold the turtle i had to someone up north yorkshire,i liked it but did not have the time to use it much so had to sell! You just need to have a awning made and then they make sense i would hire one first to see if you like them. My punto pulled the turtle ok and it was a warm bed on wheels and easy to use. Terry from little guy campers has told me the price now is near £5000 so you need to do your home work. You could even make one. Try the mpc urual bikes site in leceister they make one from £1800.

Put 'Eriba' into ebay search, I would put them in the 'bedbug' class & I would say they are the most popular of the mini caravans. you are safe buying even an 80s built Eriba they are very long lasting & tend not to get damp because of their ridgid steel framework.

Thanks for the replies.

Even the Eriba at 700kg is too heavy which is why I was considering the BedBug/Turtle/5 Wide Deluxe type units.

Might have to see if hubby can make one - he's quite technically minded and it would keep him busy!!

What car do you have? the smallest Eriba, called the Puck is 500kg empty & old 70s-80s Pucks are even lighter. I doubt the stuff you put in it would weigh that much.

If you do buy one of those little teardrop things they are about £4k new, a good 80s Puck will be around £2k & will always be worth at least that.
