Hi folks
Had a 2005 fleetwood from the dealer by us 6 months ago and have floor delam and now damp in front right hand corner. Booked in for repair next Saturday under warrenty.
That all sounds ok i suppose, but i'm not happy and wondered if i have any rights to demand a refund or even another caravan?
I know its perhaps not as easy as that but surely i must have some rights?
           Cheers Deano

You could reject the 'van on the grounds of it not being 'fit for purpose' your local trading standards will advise, it sounds as if you have good case.

However, if the dealer is prepared to do a proper repair in a reasonable time this might be your better bet, at least you will have a repaired caravan. If you get a refund the next caravan you buy could be just as bad if its several yrs old.

Its important that you get down in writing what the repair has involved & materials used so you know the dealer is not fobbing you off with a botch up.

Thanks karim.
The damp is my main worry. Its affected the side window too as i've just been up to van and had a good look.As long as they do a proper job then i'll be happy. They are the dealer of the year according to practical caravan magazine after all!
                         Cheers Deano

you have had it to long to reject it and if the dealer is prepared to fix it he can do no more then that he gets three attemps to repair. But your still wouldt get your money back after three months let alone sixs.I have been down this rocky road myself trust me the law protects the dealer as well as the consumer, good luck and have a damp free summer touring.
