Well we have finally done it and are swapping our folding camper in 2 weeks for a new (to us) 2002 Coachman Pastiche 500/5.  It looks like a really nice van and we are buying from a reputable dealer so hopefully things will be ok.  What do people think of this van - pros/cons and do you have any advice on things to look out for, check etc as we are new to this.

Any help/advice is really appreciated guys!

We are awaiting the damp report so hopefully everything will be fine.

The layout is what we want and the price is just about ok but you always end up paying that but more i guess!  It doesn't come with an awning so i will try to get either a porch awning which look really good for the price or a 2nd hand full awning.  I think it would need a 980 awniing but will check when we do get it by measuring floor to floor using string as advised on here.

Is there anything i need to watch out for with the Coachman's or are they normally pretty good?
