Hi all we have just got a new van, with a new loo! it is thetford & swivels not sure of number tho, it came with a green liquid & there is no flush bit so no where to put the pink liquid, we were told the fush tank fills straight from the aqua-roll, not a problem (i think!) but what is difference between the green & blue chemicals as i have nearly new bottle from from old van, can i use this instead of the green for  now? any ideas please !

The green is supposed to be "greener", but we found it did not work as well as the blue. Just use your usual stuff.

The toilet in our last van flushed straight from the Aquaroll, no problem. We actually preferred that to having a flush tank to fill like we do now.

The pink??    You don't!   It's not essential.   Even now we do have a flush tank we still just use plain water.

Then what is the blue or pink for?  I use a loo blue at home and would still like to use something if we do ever get a new 'van.  Have they now decided that you don't need to use it?

Strange...

You do still need the blue (or the green), it goes into the waste holding tank or cassette. It helps break down the waste and keep things sweet smelling.

The pink additive for the flush tank is also perfumed, helps keep the bowl clean and lubricates the seals, but is not essential.

You can also get a spray to use on the bowl/seals instead if you wish.

Hiya, on our old van we did'nt have a flush tank so we bought a small plant atomizer and put a bit of pink in , filled with water and used that to keep it fresh smelling. Bill

That's good to hear as i wouldn't want to just flush with cold water alone lol.  Doesn't it drain the aquaroll that much quicker tho?  I guess you just have to make sure before it gets dark that the water has been refilled.  We only use the toilet at night and i wouldn't want to have to fill the aquaroll up when its dark lol

Hi Mandi Martin

Off subject but what do you think of your new van, i really like the layout of them and seriously would consider one,

Where did you get yours from? I believe the 2009 ones now have proper bed slats in the front instead of having to use the table like the old ones, is this still the case?

Is there now dedicated storage for the table, sorry for all the questions but these we're the reasons we didn't buy one a few years ago. and if this has now been rectified we may re-consider.

We love our swift and its not 2 years old yet but I like the triple bunk idea with the side dinette but also the large(ish) bathroom.

You need to fetch the water one way or another, and the flush tank is just one more thing to remember. Still not got used to having one and it always runs out at the most inconvenient times!

Using the pink is down to personal preference I suppose, we find plain water is fine. It saves carrying extra stuff, and saves money too!

I agree its one more thing to remember if you have a flush tank and the one thing people DO forget is to drain it in the winter

The thing I like about the flush water tank on the toilet is that it does run out. When that happens I empty the cassette as well as filling the flush water up. If the kids had a whole aquaroll they could pump into the cassette, they would and then come complaining to me that it doesn't empty when they open the valve. Out with the rubber gloves again...

thanks 4 info on the blue & green, as for aquaroll we have just got a new 50lt one & intend to keep the small filled next to it in case of emergancies late at night! we also intend using the shower in the van sometimes & having 3 teenage girls they spend far too much time in there & would empty the small one very quickly!

we love it! spent alot of time looking at different vans & quickly realised we wanted a triple bunk, didn't like the bailey it felt very enclosed, the adria is very open & looks & feels spacious. the bathroom is a big bounus kids love it they can shower & dress in there our old one you could barely turn round in! the table has its own storage cupboard now & the bed is slatted very easy to make up, theres no fold up or pull out table at the front but we prefer this & theres a huge window cill to put drinks etc on (seemed to get large collection of nail varnish bottles & jelwery on it when we were out!)

we ordered it at the nec show back in october, from Broad Lane Lesuire in the Midlands. I know theres another dealer called Roundstone in Sussex i think. Highly highly recomend it is perfect for larger families plenty of living space & unlike other vans, decent sized over head lockers, i seriously wonder what caravan designers think your gona do with clothes & clutter for 6 people in most of the vans on the market, we actually had several empty cupboards (sure they wont be next time as kids now no they have more storage!) try to go see one i'm sure you'll love it!

Thanks for the advice Mandi.martin,

I am not a fan of broad lane (they have really messed my mum and dad around but thats another story), however I have found a dealer in Gloucester (about an hour away from here) so I think we may go and have a look over the weekend, Really glad your pleased, We do love our swift but I think the triple bunks would work better for us especailly as my 16 month old is an escape artist at least we could find better ways of keeping him in bed on the bottom bunk. Plus we are in the process of becoming foster carers so at least the children could all have there own bunks so less arguing!

Thanks for the feedback, I hope you have a lovely year touring in your new van, we may become an Adria owner to by the end of the year!

dont tell us that ( about Broad Lane) hope we dont have problems with them, none so far tho! Good luck looking, it doesn't totaly stop the arguments as everyone wants top bunk at least your little one is too small for that yet! our dog has taken a liking to the bottom bunk but its ideal for little ones. It'd be lovely for when you have extra kids in tow their close enough to you to feel safe & still have their own space. you'll have to let us know what happens & if you become an adria owner lol!
