I drained down the toilet flush before winter and since refilling it every time i flush it black sludge/algie appears tried flushing it all out a couple of times without any sucess any suggestions. Thanks
I had that in our new (to us) caravan last year and asked the same question. I was told to buy the blue and pink bottles of stuff to put in it and that worked almost immediately. I bought both but do wonder if just the blue would have worked on its own. Buy the small bottles as it lasts a long time and i'm carrying around 2 large bottles of the stuff lol. Another tip, don't put too much blue in otherwise every time you open the loo door you get a very strong smell of it hit you in the face lol

FIll you flush tank with Milton sterilising fluid + water leave overnight and pump it into your cassete tank and that should get rid of the black sludge
To prevent it from happening again dont use thetford pink stuff. Use Elsan instead. We had exactly the same and apparently its a known issue with the Thetford stuff so I was told.
Since using the Elsan pink we have had no further black sludge/algae.

Don't put the blue in the flush tank, the seals do not like it much.
We also had the same black bits using the blue & pink. Tried Fenwicks Top & Tail for the first time this weekend without any special cleaning/flushing out in between and seemed a lot better this time. Smells better too.
