We have just sold our 2 berth, and although there are only 2 of us, are now looking for a 4 berth fixed bed. (fed up with doing jigsaws with seat cushions)

We are seriously looking at Bailey Pageant Bordeaux, Vendee, Burgundy vans.
They are all within our weight limit and all will fit on our drive!

Come on you Bailey owners!

Which one would you choose and why?

We prefer the Pageant Provence because we don't like wet rooms & it has the proper walk in shower cublicle. Making up the beds for two won't take long, you could make up the rear bed & leave it set up if you don't want to make a bed every night.

The series 5 & 6 pageants both have the L shape lounge, this went to double dinette with the series 7. Lovely caravan.

We have a Burgundy and love it to bit's.

We did wonder how we could do without the large bathroom are we had in our other van but we don't miss it at all the shower area is fine and as there is a proper shower door the loo area doesn't get wet.

The fixed bed is so comfy and your right it's such a pain setting up the bed, by the time it's done I found I was no longer tired. This one we just crawl into it's lovely.

There is loads of cupboard space in the Burgundy, much more than we need, there's only two of us. The low worktop above the fire gives a spacious feel as you walk in the door, you don't feel cramped in.

Ours came with wrap around seats at the front but we had a front box as an extra, sometimes we use it with and sometimes withoutit gives us the option.

Some people say the fixed bed is a waste of space but we use the area under it to store our chairs e.t.c and it doubles up as a cellar during our stay, though not reccomended to carry booze under there whilst travelling.

All in all we looked at all the options but it was the Burgundy that suited us.

I have to agree with everything Janx has already said on this one, ours has come through from Bailey's 2 weeks early but we don't have the room to store it yet, very frustrating!

We liked the open feel of the Burgundy, the Bordeaux seemed a bit cramped and possibly a little dark. We gave some serious thought to the Sancerre, nice layout and a good use of available space but went back to the Burgundy in the end. The Burgundy seemed just what we wanted, it has a weight we can safely tow and at a price that suited us too. Its very much a personal thing just what layout suits your lifestyle, but I think you will know when you find it. As for the fixed bed, every time for us, so much more comfortable and convenient.

There are normally just the two of us but if family wish to come for a break we have room for them too in a 4 berth.

Dave.

Think your thoughts echo ours regarding the Burgundy.
We saw the Sancerre for the first time today.
OH loved it!
She could have a fixed bed and her end bathroom which we enjoyed in our last van.
But alas, it wont be a brand new van this year, just a new to us one!
The Burgundy has the space and the extra worktop opposite the cooker, which the Bordeaux didnt.
We are looking at a Burgundy and a Vendee tomorrow, so who knows?
Not been impressed with condition of the vans on offer so far, so fingers crossed.

We are more than happy with the Burgundy for just the two of us (and sometimes Grandchildren).

Well we looked at the Burgundy today. It was v. clean inside but a lot of scratches and dings on the outside. No we didnt buy it!
However!
On the way out of the lot we saw an Abbey 470. Immaculate inside and out. Yes you have guessed, we fell for it!
Not as big as the Burgundy and not so many cupboards and storage space, but not as long so easier to tow.
We are having a mover fitted and hopefully will be back vanning in about a week.

Yippee

Glad you got a van you liked, I think you know whats right for you nearly as soon as you walk inside as with a house.
