Hi just checked prices for private sales of hobbys and it says the van is worth £5199, obviously it has an awning too so would be worth more than this,

Hi i bought a 1999 hobby 540 uk deluxe off ebay for £4000 nearly 3 years ago with full awning and loads of extras so the price you've seen is about right.You can tow them legally on the road ,but they are quite heavy mptlm of 1500 i towed mine first with a vectra c dti and now with a freelander,they're great vans,ive never been turned away from a site or had any problems in insureing it (the caravan club were the cheapest) Good luck.

I bought a 2003 hobby 540 uk 2 days ago.  It is the same layout as yours an I paid £6000.  This included a motor mover and ful awning.  We also got various security devices with it.
