I keep seeing vans on site with the jockey wheels clamped up! Odd, I always thought it should be down to take some of the weight as the steadies are just that, steadies.
I can not see the point of even considering lifting the jockey wheel, it's just something extra to do and nobody could ever find an advantage in doing it.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
