we are just upgrading from our beloved tent to buy a baily pageant Auvergne, Im really looking forward to it but have reservations at the same time, my main concern is how do you make the front seats into a bed as there is a cabinet in between the seats? can anyone advise if this cabinet is removable we are buying it from a neighbour who is upgrading.
the cupboard is a fixture, you pull the slats out from beneath and move the seats about and he presto you have a double bed, you lay across the van rather than length ways down the van.

If you don't want the cabinet you can often unscrew it very easily and stick it in the loft until you sell the van again. You can then get an infill cushion made up and have a huge bed.
Of course you have reservations, it's completely normal lol. But once you get your lovely 'van and start going away in it you will soon fall in love with every convenience in it. I don't like emptying the toilet but love being able to get up in the night/early morning without getting cold to go to the toilet lol. I love being able to fill the kettle up from the tap without having to get a water bottle to fill it up. Being able to do a bit of washing up in the van with hot running water and emptying it down the sink is sheer luxury. I pack the 'van the day before we go and put almost everything in it's place so that when we arrive it's only minutes before we can get into the 'van and start our holiday. If we don't want to put up the awning straightaway we don't have to...
When do you get it and when are you going away in it?
the people who we bought our last 'van off had an extra cushion made to go where the front cabinet went -it was removable in that 'van.it made the bed massive-not even a king size bottom sheet fitted!

A Warm welcome to this crazy world. I understand your reservations! After nearly 40 years of tenting we decided (with great trepidation) to become "tin tenters" Our first van was a real cheapie just in case we didnt like caravanning. Well, to cut a long story short, at the ebd of last season we bought a brand new van, which speaks for itself on how much we enjoy it. Im sure you will soon feel the same as we did
