Hi all,

We are considering purchasing a Isabella Penta awning.  The Isabella borchure states It "is a firm favourite with permanent pitch caravanners" is the Penta unsuitable for touring due to it's ease of assembly/weight?

Please advise if you own one

Thanks

Darryl

I recently looked at these and decided against getting one. Partially because of the weight, but mainly because of the sheer size!

Some of the sites I use have pitches that are tight on space with an ordinary awning (2.4/2.5m projection) I didn't fancy my chances of having enough room for 3.5m.

They do look lovely!

Oh, finance did also have a bearing on my decision, although they do sometimes come up 'used'.

I have just sold an Isabella Penta and I loved it.  The only reason we sold it was simply the weight - however I miss it dreadfully.   It is a lovely spacious awning and once you get the hang of putting it up it becomes as easy as any other.  It is simply a heavy beast.  We have replaced the Penta with a Commodore Royal.  This is 3metres in depth and has lightweight poles.   I am growing to love this awning just as much and it certainly is of benefit to have the lightweight poles.  We did consider the Forum but decided that whilst it has the advantage of changing the layout of the awning it would be very unlikely that we would ever do that hence settled on the Commodore.

Hope this helps.

Thanks both very much for the feedback.

We will investigate the Commodore Royal it sounds a better bet.

Thanks

Darryl
