there is apparently a website where you can type in the postcode and it will tell you where the nearest transmitter is so that you can tune your aerial to that when you are away at a campsite.. Does anyone know it please. Practical caravan says its www.dtg.org.uk/transmitters but I cannot find it.

Thanks Pete, not sure if thats what Practical caravan meant. I just checked Cornwall which changes soon and it tells you the transmitter will be redruth. Do you just turn your aerial in the direction of Redruth?

Sorry if I am being thick.

Hi Robin. I assume that's from the postcode you put in. If you point at Redruth - and there are databases on the net of the exact location, that should do it. I don't know what sort of aerial you're using but you need it to be horizontal. Looking at THIS it looks as if Redruth is only a low power relay which just covers part of Cornwall. The big one is Caradon Hill (HERE)

Have a look at http://www.wolfbane.com/cgi-bin/tva.exe? all you do is enter the postcode for where you are or are going and it will give you a set of all the possible directions that you can direct your aerial to and it also tells you how far away the transmitter is and what the polarity of the aerial for each transmitter should be. I would not go away without having visited the site and printed out the instructions.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
