Hubby has bought a powertouch motor mover and is fitting it himself. Now the question......where do we put the control box??? It cannot go in the front locker because of the gas and damp... so were do we put it??
We had ours fitted by powertouch and it is fitted under the bench seats nearest to the battery compartment. Some people fit them in the area behind the fire but I would advise against this as that area can get very warm when the fire is used. Also you will have received a cable to use the remote if the radio control will not communicate for some reason so access is required to plug this in.

needs to be as near to the battery as possible.ours is fitted at about arms length from the battery.believe its to prevent power drop off in the cable itself.i have the instructions some where.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.

This makes sense, however, Powrtouch advise that the cables should not be cut to length but coiled up in case the unit gets fitted to another van. This negates the voltage drop theory as the voltage loss is even greater through a coiled cable than it is through a straight one. This voltage drop creates heat, hense the reason a hook up lead should always be fully unwound.
