well we're finally hme from our marathon caravan buying trip.
we left home around 7pm friday night, drove until 3am( with a couple of stops along the way) and finally parked in a picnic area layby to bed down in the back of the minibus. were up by 7.30, had breakfast and a cuppa overlooking bodmin moor( kinda somewhere round that area anyhow lol)
after another half hour or so of driving down some spectacularly skinny lanes, panicking at the thought of towing a big van back up them , we arrived at the vendors house.( needing to change a tyre) and OMG , what a fabulous caravan .
i was totally bowled over by its condition , and oh had a really good look round the outside while i crawled over , under and into every available space to try and make sure all was as it seems.
needless to say we bought the caravan( avondale argente 645/4), as it was in very nearly new condition , and reasonably priced.
had a fab trip home ( close shave when we nearly ran out of diesel lol).then manoevered all 26 foot of it onto our drive, hooked up the old lunar , and headed off to yorkshire, where this morning met up with my buyer , and off went the old van.
must say after 2 nights in the minibus( which actually turned out to be really comfy and warm) , and living on biscuits cakes and crisps, was very glad to be home , and cant wait to play properly with my new toy.will be testing the awning etc tommorrow( have already been and bought all new bedding and a shiny new kettle , hehehe)
all in all a fantastic weekend , and im mega proud of my new 'van
