Hi Everyone,
Over the last couple of weekends i have had an interesting debate (sometimes verging on arguing) with a couple of caravanning friends, it seems that because we (myself & the wife) have no interest in camping in a farmers field and using a porta-potty we are somehow not "proper" caravanners. Now my view is when we stay in hotels here or abroad we go to 4* or 5* if we can afford it so why should i not go onto an all singing all dancing delux pitch with my van. To some this seems like snobbery (if you can be a snob in a 10 year old Pageant?), just really want to know your views on this issue, although to be honest we will not change the way we enjoy our caravanning.
Regards,
Granty.

For me, it is basically having a home from home. Some people say what is the point in going away if you make it just like home, when you are away. I look at it from the other view, that we are wanting to go somewhere different but be able to stay close by and be comfortable whilst doing it. This weekend, we were up in the dales, we were able to stay for 3 nights, be comfortable, not have to worry about driving home, be able to cook our own meals and basically be self sufficient like at home, but in a different part of the country.Do what suits you and enjoy yourself. Let them sleep on the floor and get wet, walkng to the loo in the night. i am glad to be able to wake up, put the kettle on and have a cuppa in bed in the morning!
