Thinking of purchasing the above.

Might seem like a "daft" question but how do you initially slide the bag into the awning rail?

Does the roller etc have to be removed and be refitted after the bag is pulled through the awning channel?

Many thanks

Dave

Its best as a two person job. All you do is unzip the bag and get your helper to unroll the canopy and hold the beam out of harms way so you don't dent the van. This makes the bag much more flexible and allows you to thread it along the awning rail until its in position. Once in place you can roll it up again and zip it back in the bag.

Also, you don't have to feed it in to the rail at the bottom .... you may not have realised .... there's a gap at about head height into which the bag can be fed.

If you don't have a gap higher up the awning rail you can get your dealer to make one for you. They should have a tool that does it in a few seconds. We had one put on each rail along the top part at the front end of the van to make it easier to put our store on and take it off when we want to use the full awning.

We had a 4 metre Omnistor 'caravan style' and when it was first fitted it had to be completely unrolled because the 'feed' point in the awning rail was at the bottom - and the awning needed to be made flexible to negotiate the roof bend.

Later, we borrowed a tool from a caravan workshop that created another 'feed point' along the top rail - meaning that the rolled up awning could be easily slipped on or off.

I would advise doing this from the front end of the awning rail as the curve is normally a lot less and dont forget to feed on the locking device before the awning as it can be very tight trying to get it around the tight rear corner afterwards.
