May be of interest to anyone with a porch awning and a hot air system in their caravan. I thought I'd put a spare piece of drainpipe to use to take the chill off in the porch awning. In a nutshell: There is a hot air vent near the door of our caravan and many others I've seen. The cut and glued pipe directs the hot air into the awning. Looks rubbish (wouldn't rule out a Turner prize though ) but it does take the chill of the evening air. Won't get you stripping off down to your skimpies but it does make a difference. You could use an elbow piece if you are going for looks Just as long as it fits over the vent. No need for a permanent fixture, it just redirects as needed.

brilliant , and you just saved me 25 quid lol, i saw an awning warmer kit at that price in the paper , and im guessing it does much the same job , so ta i will be doing it your way hehehe
Better with an external mains socket fitted on the outside wall of your caravan and use a small electric fan heater (I have a 1025cm awning). I also find it heats the inside of the van much quicker as the trunking runs all round the van and loses much of it's efficiency while doing so.......especially if you use your van in winter. Just make sure you don't use the inside heater and the external one together at full output at the same time.
