When I was at school (many moons ago) one of my worse subjects was sewing, i hated it - took me ages making one item, which i saw no point in making, as i would have never have worn it.
However today, i have made curtains for our caravan, I must admit am pretty pleased with them and with myself. And the best thing of all, they fit
Well done you. I made curtains & cushion covers for my last van, and got a real sense of pride every time I closed up for the night. Enjoy your handiwork!
Well done. Been there at school and Mum tried to get me to sew, but I try and avoid even sewing a button on. You must have a really good and well deserved sense of achievement.
I'd never sewn more than a button on before I made a new set of curtains for our first caravan so I know how you feel! For the first two weeks I kept going back to sit in the van, brew in hand, to admire my handiwork .
My oh knows how you feel Kaz, because she has just finished making new curtains and recovering the seating, and what a FANTASTIC job she has done of it and to be honest when she said she was going to do it I was a bit like no no no your going to screw it up (ps I didn't say this out loud as I value my life to much lol), I thought this because in the 18 years we have been together I have never seen a sewing machine in front of her, and like the woofs she keep's making excuses to run out to the van for something and then staying in it for half hour or so looking at her handywork lol

Hi r-kid, that's really made me laugh. I'm going to show this to my husband because I know this is what he thought too. Only problem now is, he's compiling a list of sewing jobs like fixing cushions and shortening trouser legs.....
