I bought an odd curtain at our dealers for £1 and use that as a tablecloth to match the awning curtains!

We have two awnings - a porch awning which we use for says of 4 nghts or less and a full awning which we use for longer holidays. What we use them for really depends on the weather - if it is very wet our awning tends to be used for hanging wet coats and drying wet shoes etc.

If we have the sleeping compartment in our porch awning for our son then the other half is used for storing chairs etc in our big awning we put up a dining table and chairs so that we can eat out there. In the really hot weather we like to eat outside if possible - the awning is nice to relax in in the evenings though and just as an extension to the caravan really.

We almost live in our awning, we have annexes each end in which three of our kids love sleeping. We eat in the main awning space & use it to store stuff in overnight such as relaxers etc. We'd be lost without our awning.

We use our awning to eat in, slouch on the loungers whilst reading and as an extra room for escaping for some on my own time if needed. We also have the bin, suitcases and cloth wardrobe for dirty clothes in one corner. Dont use it when just me and OH but if son comes with us we def use the extra space. Its also a good giggle for us all putting it up especially when it rains. It makes water fights so much easier!

As others have said, we use ours as extra space for eating and relaxing.  Here is Mr U-M demonstrating typical use of the awning !!!:-

We have a lightweight porch awning and a full awning - the small awning gets used most weekends (unless the friends we camp with request we take the big awning, in which case they help with putting it up and taking it down again).  For long weekends and holidays we use the full awning.  The small awning is used for storage, somewhere to take off wet boots and clothes, drying the dog, and somewhere for hubby to cook breakfast if the weather is not good.  The full awning is used for all of this, plus dining (sometimes 12 or 14 of us!!), washing up, socialising in the evening, and just about anything else you would normally do in a kitchen or lounge!!  We would be lost without an awning.
