Sorry can't help here but we looked at a caravan with fixed bed once and i just had to lift up the bed to see what the storage was like underneath and couldn't get it down, made a quick exit out of that 'van lol.
I did wonder afterwards if i had lifted it fully to the end of it if it would then go back down, if that makes sense?
Someone will be along soon to tell you how to do it as i'm sure you are not the 1st to do this
