Had our trial run, had a couple of days at Southport CC site, a very quiet site, well run the toilets/showers etc were immaculate and the whole site is a credit to the staff and the CC.
As for the trial run, it was an amazing success, once we had moved our van from the pitch that said reserved for motor home ( that sign should have been bigger ) we set up shop surprisingly quickly (only bordering on divorce) enjoyed a meal from the new cadac barbie not as good as charcoal but but very easy, night was very stormy terrific winds but no probs, day two was great, so all in all a very pleasant experience, we wont say how long it took to put the awning up !! anyway its France in seven days

Where in France are you going J&S. We hope to pick our new van up week after next, have a maiden voyage to a site just outside beverly and its off to France (St Malo) for us mid june. I'll be very interested to hear of your french experience.
Thank you for the replies, sorry to have taken a long time to get back but there seems to be so much to do and unfortunately my son was knocked off his cycle today (he is an adult) he had owned it for nearly five minutes, young male driver came through the first give way sign he went past and whammo, at least he had the decency to stop and offer help, our son is sore with some cuts and bruises but otherwise ok thank God !!, so folks our lead up to our holiday in france is a little fraught, its funny but you always think of them as children .
Dave we have not made any bookings but Loire, Bordeaux, and further south dependant on weather, Rusty I am hoping to drink a fair amount of the wine and beer while I'm there
