We pick up our new to us van (Abbey Impression 520L) on Friday and are so excited.  Off to Wittering for the weekend to try everything out.  We have decided to call her Ermintrude (the cow from the Magic Roundabout).

I am so excited I can't sleep.  Really pathetic lol

i dont pick my van up until saturday and im too excited too! Like a kid waiting for santa my hubby says. We have called our van Shirley. Dont ask me why, it was the first name that popped into my head and it suits her i must say.

not this weekend as we cant get booked in anywhere and because hubby has never towed before he doesnt want to travel too far so we might go somewhere the weekend after depending on what sites are free. are you away in ermintrude??

Yes we are going down to the coast.  We are keeping in storage down near Chichester and intend to go down every other weekend or so.  Too expensive to keep it near our house as we live on the outskirts of London.

Hope you manage to get away the following weekend.

Well we are back after an absolutely magical weekend.

It didn't start too well with the news that OH mum (who has been ill for sometime) wasn't going to get any better and wouldn't be with us for much longer.  He spent all day at the hospital on Friday but we still decided to go down to Wittering as the kids were so excited.

We set off about an hour late and pick up the van from Michael Jordans who were very nice but because we were late we had to rush through all the instructions. Arrived down in Wittering just before dark and found there were a few things we didn't understand and ended up with about 4 or 5 of our fellow campers helping us out.

Following morning sorted everything out and had a lovely time putting our things away whilst OH came back to Surrey to visit his Mum.

All in all despite the horrendous weather we had ie very high winds, hail and rain we had an absolutely fabulous weekend and can't wait to go back on Friday.

I really enjoyed sitting in my toasty warm caravan, drinking my lovely coffee watching the people in the tent opposite getting very wet lol. That was us last year.
