ok so im really hoping you guys can help me out. ive just bought a bull dog mini hitch lock thing and it has dawned on me that i dont know if its a case of one size fits all or if you need to get them made to fit to your van. any idea?

Im still in the giddy phase as you know and although a hitchlock is a necessary purchase, making sure the one i want actually will fit is prob more of a necessity! oh well. if it doesnt fit, i'll sell it on.

anyone any ideas? I know im an idiot but i act first think later - hey ho.

Provided it is not for Alko with built instabilizer or similar and it is the sort you have to use a seperate stabilizer, then you should be ok. just remember when fitting it that the gold bit goes underneath, the black bit fits over the handle and over the gold piece before putting the bar through which should pass beneath the handle and on top of the hitch. Just thought I would mention it as some friends of ours bought one off me and could not figure how to fit it. Even though I fitted it for them the first time.

ah brill so it will fit regardless then? I have to say that makes me feel a lot better! The stabiliser that comes with the van is a snakemaster (its a long black rod thing that says snakemaster on it in an ornage rectangle) so hopefully when unhitched the lock should fit ok? I have heard that you shouldnt have a hitch lock on whilst towing (a policeman i know told me that) only when unhitched from the car. so the stabiliser wouldnt be on then anyway would it? Sorry if i sound thick but im still getting used to all this caravan stuff ha ha!
