The are two power ratings for a microwave the stated pwer, e.g. 800w and the "start-up" power, which can be up to twice the stated power.
Divide the wattage by the volts to get the amps required. E.G. 1600 / 240 = 6.67 amps.
Depending on the hook-up you have 10 or 16 amp is normal, and what else you have plugged in you should be ok but avoid using fire, water heater or other high usage appliances at the same time.
