HI there, We are interested in purchasing one of these porch awnings, and I just wondered if anyone has one of the 2009 models the PLUS? They are about £65 more expensive than the normal model, so I just wondered whether these upright steel poles, (which I assume help stop it flapping against the side of the caravan??), are worth the extra cash ?
We have the Ultima Plus with the extra poles and roof bracing, they dop not flap about at all, I think they are well worth the bit extra
We had this up in a high wind in Norfolk two weeks ago and it was steadier than a full size awning, we were most imprest, it is not just the two upright poles it has two alloy cross poles as well.

Has anyone got any pictures of how the extra poles are fixed ? I wonder if it's possible to modify my old 2007 model to stop the annoying rattling on the sides during high winds ? It's the only thing that lets down an otherwise excellent lightweight awning !
Sorry no pictures but the poles fit in pockets in the cover itself, the poles are fitted with rubbers to stop them damaging the fabric, the middle fibreglass pole is tied to the cross pole with a tie sown in place.
Could be done once you had the poles but a bit of work and I expect you would have to reproof it after the sewing.
We have asimilar porch but is the Sunncamp 390 (3 sections) and we use it all the time - its almost as big as our awning but much easier to manage. I took the "Veranda" Carbon x poles from the main awning bag and use them as support uprights at each end near to where the cross poles fit into the pockets.
I can then hang a coat hook or anything else within reason on these uprights. I will try and take some photos next time we are out and about.
Hope this helps as you may be able to save a bit of cash if you already have the veranda poles
