We've had our caravan for just over 2 weeks and we seem to keep getting a wet patch just in the entrance doorway. It hasn't rained and nobody has spilt anything (and theirs no damp or condensation). When I feel the wet I'm fairly certain its not water...it's smelly and slightly oily. Could this be coming from our Alde heating system or anywhere else? I've looked underneath the van and can't see anything out of the ordinary.
The only reason I think it might be the heating is because I can't get the heating part of the boiler to work, just the hot water...but then I am a total novice and may just be doing it wrong.
The Adle heating system has both inhibited water and fresh water in it.
From your description it sounds like the inhibited water is leaking. This contains 40/50% antifreeze; this part will not evaporate leaving a residual stickiness and has a distinct smell.
Take your car radiator cap off and see if the smell is distinctly similar. Be warned it is very toxic.
The Alde heating system has lots of rubber hose to alloy tube joints and these can weep.

Where is your kitchen with respect to the door? In ours it is "midships" to the right of the door and when I have spilt water washing up on the back of the sink it has run down the back and onto the floor by the door.
If you bought the van new, take it straigt back, if pre loved, try calling the old owners as they may be able to point you in the right direction with the heating.
JTQU I think its the antifreeze as like you say it leaves a slightly sticky greasy residue. The first time it happened was before we'd ever hooked up any water etc.
We've booked it in for a service, finding an alde engineer has been a pain today, I must've made at least 15 phone calls, nobody wants to touch them for some reason?
After looking today I see the antifreeze resevoir thingy is totally empty....which explains alot
we had leak evidence one time in the doorway and it turned out to be be from the tap in the washroom.because the washroom was across from the doorway.only found the leak when the sink was removed.water dripping down from under the sink and under the shower tray and was running across the floor to the doorway unseen until the carpet got very wet.
