Not used that particular road for some time but your question reminded me of a story a friend told me several years ago.
Whilst travelling along one of the 'passing places only' roads they encountered a truck coming the other way. As the caravan tower was travelling up hill he decided to keep going thinking that the truck driver would recognise that it was easier for him to pull in and let the caravan continue climbing. Unfortunately the truck driver did not and the two met on the single track section. After some heated exchanges the truck driver backed down and reversed back to the passing place. How did my friend manage to defeat this goliath of the roads. He simply said to his wife, go and put the legs down on the caravan and put the kettle on, we may be here some time and might as well have our lunch! Worked a treat! lol
