Working from memory, the floats in two parts, the float and it's hinge.
The hinge is a small white plastic rectangular box that clips into the top of the tank, I found it impossible to get the float straight back in so decided to get the hinge out first and clip the float back into it, it's then an easy job to but both back in together.
The hinge has two clips on the short edges of the rectangle, I used a mirror and small screwdriver to release them but it's a sod to do!
Good idea to hose it down well first before you start!!!
