Hi all,

We're currently looking for a sun canopy to fit directly on out 15ft van, but can't find anything in our price range.

We'd like one that's cheap and cheerful - preferably one that can stay attached to the side of the van when not in use. Anyone seen anything suitable around?

The cheapest sun canopy is the single sheet that threads thru awning rail & is held with 3 poles, no good in wind tho. Otherwise look for something secondhand on ebay.

I've looked both on ebay and other second hand sites and there's nothing available unfortunately.

Are you suggesting I make one myself? I wouldn't know where to start!!

You can buy these canopies from a caravan shop for about £60 odd all they are is a sheet of whatever length you need with awning bead on one edge & 3 holes on the other edge. Thread thru awning channel then put the pole ends in the holes & secure with guy ropes.

Quick to put up to keep off sun or shower but no good if its windy.

This might be what you are looking for

Or This even cheaper.
