take care not to rub down too much because the wood effect is only printed on and if your too heavy handed you will have a white patch that nothing will cover,remove all loose and varnish to match your cupboards.

It may be possible to iron back on the peeling edges. Just use a hot iron and brown paper. Has worked in the past for me

Hi I have used a ronseal product that I wipe on with a rag,I used a darker product on a lighter wood.It seemed to go in the scatches and grain and just made it look a bit better.Didn't fix it but tided it up.

Not sure what is its called though,it's sort of like a french polish and you can put it on in coats.

You can get wood trim on rolls which irons on to the edges of wood(its for chipboard etc) in DIY places. We redid the edges of cupboards in our first van??? years ago!

You could maybe get laminate which glues on rather than fablon for doors.

They still do it as I have some in my garage which was left by the guys who fitted our new kitchen-they used it on edges of internal shelves once cut to size.
