Just a quick post to say hi , as we pick up our first caravan at the weekend . We've sold our Folding Camper and decided to give a caravan a go so that we can go almost year round without worrying about folding away damp etc . Really looking forward to picking it up but a little nervous about towing it if i'm honest . Was hoping to pick it up this week so that we could go away this weekend but our camper doesn't go till Saturday so will have to make do with playing with it on the drive this weekend ( the caravan that is ! ) .
I can fit it on the drive but it's not going to be an easy manouver ! I can see a motor mover being next on list . I may just sleep in it on the drive this weekend and test everthing out , roll on the weekend !
This is our first season as owners of a caravan having sold our FC. We have caravanned for years but never towed as OH's parents are 'vanners. We love it and looking forward to getting away this weekend.
Have fun in it wherever it is!! We sit and have lunch in ours sometimes!! (when it's on the drive). We're off to yorkshire on Sunday for 3 nights and can't wait.
Thanks all , picking it up Saturday morning . Think i'm going to take it to our local industrial estate on the way back and practice a bit of reversing before tackling the driveway at home . Had no problem with the Folding camper as i could drive straight on to the drive and straight into the garage with the car , unhitch and turn it to push it into its space . Caravan is too long to do that as there's not enough clearence to turn it and push it back . Still , practice will make perfect and the going away more often will give me plenty of that . Excited now !
