Does anyone out there know what slots in to convert front seating in our 1990 Elddis Typhoon 5 berth to make up double bed. We thought it was the large table, but this is too small. We have only used bed at the back,

We need to know because we are selling and prospective buyers want to know.We have also wooden a wooden structure that looks like the bunk, how  does this set up please?

Regards Kate

Hi my mum has an Eldis Tornado (oldish model) don't know what year ,but at the bottom of the drawers unit (between the seats) level with the base of the seats there is a wooden bar with slats on a roll.  You may have to push  to click out or jiggle it about, but they should then be able to be pulled out.  Hope this helps. Thats what it does on hers anyway.

We had a1999 tornado so not sure if yours would be anything like it.

On ours there was just a table that lifted up at the front, which needed to be down, then under this above the small cupboard was a shelve that pulled out the slats that unrolled from underneath. If my memory is correct you need to pull gently and evenly from the middle so that the slats don’t come out of the runners.

On ours the whole ledge pulled out or are there slats hidden underneath?

Hi, i have looked in our manual for our 1993 Elddis and the Tornado picture states that there is a pull out slatted bed at the front between the two seats and you are correct, there is no chest of drawers just a table connection.

The rear bunk should just pull out and fold over and there should be a very thin mattress that fits into the wooden bunk structure or you may have to use one of the rear seat cushions folded in half.

They may have changed the models from 1990 to 1993 but the Tornado in my handbook is only a four berth not five.

You may also be able to obtain information from someone selling the same model on ebay, you could always send them a question about their caravan!

Hope you get it sorted.

Thanks to everyone. With your help I have discovered that the ledge pulls out and the slats are attached to it.

Thanks again. Have a great Bank Holiday weekend.

Regards Kate
