Had a few experiences with pets on holiday.Back in the 70's went camping in a frame tent, remember them?, and girlfriend took her cat with us. The first morning we were woken very early by a pitter patter noise on the groundsheet in the living area, yes the cat had brought us a present, a mouse, of course I had to rescue it, and let it go. The cat got a b***ocking and order was restored, or so we thought. The following morning, "Oh what's this in my shoe?", oh it's only a dead mouse, eek!! Despite this early experience the cat went with us to Scotland and Wales as well as all over England.
We've seen rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters. parrots, even, once, a ferret, which the owner walked on a lead. The best story though was when we inherited mums budgie after she passed away. Well Joey enjoyed the touring life and visited quite a lot of places with us, travelling in his cage on the back seat, until sadly he passed away one day whilst we were at a steam rally in Somerset. Well it's rather difficult to arrange a pet funeral at a steam rally and poor Joey ended up, in his cage, in a rubbish skip. I then was asked by my daughter aged five, where's Joey now? So I gently explained that he was flying free in a nice place with lots of other budgies." No he's not" said Ellie "he's in his cage over there in that skip".
Kids eh!!
Pete.

Hit it with a pointed stick!
Nostalgia's not what it used to be.
