folks
van hasnt moved since october and I have been my usual anorak when it comes to the tyres by checking them on a monthly basis along with the car tyres, was thinking as I am going to be using the van in 2 weeks and towing it about 75 miles each way whether to take it for a short test tow beforehand just to ensure everything is okay on the running gear, it has been greased etc
opinions (yeah i know everyone has one lol)

Its better finding out now that the brakes are seized, than the morning you go on your hols.

Not good, Alan. Wasting your caravan by not using it. Tut tut. Get off camping straightaway, have a few days somewhere local, that'll give it a test. You can check everything else is ok inside as well. I'm sure you'll have checked the tyres for sidewall cracks

Was in the same situation, caravan not moved since last October. Took it for a 10 mile run last week. Everything is o.k so now we are ready to go. Have checked everything inside by plugging in to house. Go for it and make the most of this wonderful summer we have been promised.

Couldn't agree more....need to use these vans of ours as much as possible.

mum hasnt been well with a foot infection, cant walk or go out plus with me not working kinda skint
only using the van to doss in at knockhill for a race meeting thinking it will be comfier than the tent

I move my van every 4/6 weeks if it's not being used - only about a quarter turn of the wheels, just to take the weight off one area of the tyres.
