We will be off on our first two week holiday in the caravan at the end of July (prev just been away for weekends) and will be going about 200 miles from home, we would really like to sort out some kind of cover should the worst happen.

Can anyone recommend a good and reasonably priced company to use?

I use RAC, but their special Arrival package available to members of C & C C.

They've always been very good, and it's cheaper than normal RAC cover.

I was in your situation last year and 4 days before we went to devon from Cambridge i join Mayday with the caravan club. Boy am i glad i did, going was OK but had problems comeing back. I had to leave Devon, collect my mother for Southampton on a ferry from the isle of wight and then home to Cambridge. Broke down half hour from Southhampton and Mayday were great. they sent a car to collect my mother and a pick up and tow truck for us. Once mother had been delivered safely to us we were all then driven home with car and van safe and sound. A little later than expected but for 86 quid a year i hate to think how much it would have cost if i had not been covered. mayday will deliver you and your van if you break down on the way to your holiday, if your car cannot be fixed at a local garage while you are away then they will collect you at the end of the holiday and take you and your van home again.... great service and worth every penny!!!!

We are no longer members of the CC, just not using it at all so I guess Green Flag are out on that count then. We are members of the C and CC so I will look into that and the other options.
