The spike on top unscrews.
I had the idea of making a box from polystyrene blocks, Using tape to hold them together the just drop this over the antenna before fitting the cover.
Now i have the sat dish from lidl i am thinking of removing the status dish.
Anyone know if there is a purpose made cover to replace it?

You can remove the aerial and leave the base in place. You should have received a plastic plug for the hole along with an allen key, aerial lead and the instructions with the 'van.
