Welcome and hope you have many good times in the Bailey

Not to well up on Baileys but ask dealer to explain everything and try to go near home for your first time out.

Like everything it's easy when you know how.  Great if you have a mate with caravan who could help you set up first time or even try every thing at home if you can.

Sure someone on here has a Bailey who will give you top tip's

Mr Me ,

Welcome to the site,if they are a good dealership they should go through everything with you. Make yourself a list before you go i.e.water, gas anything you don't know about and then ask them.

Look everywhere for faults, bit's missing, e.t.c there will be some, it's very rare that you will get a van that is perfect first time, it shouldn't be this way but thats seems to be how it is now.

They may ask you to make a list of the things you find, anything that is non urgent. It also depends how picky you are (I am very). I don't spend all that money lightly.

We have a Bailey and some of the things we found were an overhead locker door miss matched for colour, ill fitting front locker, part of graphics on one side not stuck on, one window marked between the two parts of the plastic, and some other minor bits. All these were done in the first six months, you have to give them time for replacement parts because they have to be ordered.

This is why I always think the dealer is AS important as the make of van because if you live miles away it can become a problem. People buy from shows and don't think about this.

As Vulcan said try to go somewhere near to  home/dealer for a short trip, even one night so you can try everything before the 'Big one' lol.

Hope you enjoy your new van and have many happy trips away in it.

Don't forget there is help on here if you need it.

Welcome Mr Me to the ukcs.  I can already tell that you have very good taste and sense just from your caravan lol.  But then i am biased as i will be getting exactly the same as you in July lol.  I fell in love with the Ranger 540/6 last year but as soon as i saw the GT60 i knew that was the one for me lol.

Great idea Janx about making sure everything works before you go away in it.  I was planning on hooking up to electricity and trying ours out at home before we go away but now i will make sure i hook up the gas and water as well and try out everything because in August we are off to Scotland for 2 weeks and don't want to get there and find a problem.  Think i'll have to spend the weekend in it

Someone on here has already had the new Bailey and found that one of the TV aerial points didn't work so had to connect it up properly.  Are you getting a motor mover fitted?  Have fun in your lovely new van and post back on how you get on and maybe add some pics?

Hi there, you don't say what you are towing with but have you made sure all your weights are ok and that your towball is the correct one etc?

Have fun, very envious the GT60s look lovely.

Dont be in a hurry to take it from the dealers, they should have documented a thorough checklist before they release it to you and they usually use this to "demonstrate" the van to you. They probably wont hook up to electricity or gas so you need to check these are all working properly as others have said i.e. a short trip locally.

Ask them to leave you to have a good look around on your own before you drive away and take a notebook and pen with you to note down any issues.

Like most we had a play on our driveway before we set off on any trips - even cracked a bottle of wine in celebration of new ownership - it sounds sad but lots do it if they admit it. !!!17

Ask about tyre pressures, etc..

Check that they have given you all they promised like a battery!!!

If you are really concerned about it then why not offer to be a "secret shopper" for Baileys and feedback any issues you have with the van to the dealer and to Baileys - might be worth asking?

Hope this helps

Andy
