Hey folks. Bought a small (10ft) Abi Monza caravan for myself and the girlfriend a month or so ago. We've been away 3 times so far and love it. Great wee size for towing and deceptively spacious inside.
Only problem is, there is no water supply at the minute. The caravan looks like it has been re-wired just for 240v. There is no 12v leisure battery. This isn't a bother as we only use the electric when on a site anyway. There are 2 holes on the underside of the caravan. A big one that the waste water comes out and a smaller one, which I'm assuming is where the water should go in. However, I've been told there should be a small electrical connector under the caravan, beside the 2 water holes, which connects to a water pump and activates it when the water tap is turned on. There is a spout for the water to come out in the sink, but no tap to turn the water on. I did, however, find a brown whale foot switch in the caravan, but wasn't connected to anything.
I want to make my own water system. All the water pumps I've seen are 12v, so I've got an inverter that lets you run 12v cigarette lighter powered accessories off 240v plug. Am I right in thinking it's as simple as connecting the water pump to the inverter, but with a foot switch on the positive cable? Then connect an appropriate size hose from the pump (submersed in water tank) to the water inlet hole.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
