Hi! We have just bought a new (for us - it's a 2007) Adria Adora 532UK. It has a month or so warranty left on it, plus 3 years water ingress warranty, but we have just found out that we'll need to take it over 2 hours away to Knowepark to get it serviced each year to maintain the water ingress cover. (there's only 2 Adria approved service agents in Scotland apparently, both east coast)
Knowepark also said that they couldn't do any of the warranty repairs for us anyway as it is a private sale from down south, near Birmingham so we'd have to take it to the original dealer (really wanted that particular model of Adria!)
You don't have to take it to an Adria Approved workshop whatsoever. ANY Workshop that is on this list - NCC Approved Workshop's 2009 can service ANY caravan, be it a Dealer or Mobile Workshop.
Thanks for that information, but that's not what Adria Concessionaires are telling me...they say I must use an Adria servicer (Knowepark or another one further away in Carnoustie) or the warranty is not valid.
Might be a moot point anyway, as it appears that the company that serviced it last year are not on the Adria list: Black Country Caravans. They might not honour the warranty now anway....
What they are telling you is Utter Codswallop and all that they are trying to do is to protect their own servicing market. Bailey and Swift tell buyers the same thing and that to is also a complete load of rubbish. Moreover, I'm sure that the Monopolies & Mergers Commission would also have something to say about the Adria Dealers stance.
They all have to follow the standards that are laid down by the NCC so it makes not a jot of difference if the Adria Dealer services it or if another NCC Approved workshop services it.
Many people buy there vans at the big shows and often from the dealer that has the best show offer's. So it would be unrealistic to expect a buyer to drag their van the length of the country so that the dealer that sold it can service it.
As for warranty repairs, if you take it to the dealers for a service and they find something that needs repair that is covered by the warranty, it usually takes anywhere between 6-12 weeks for the parts to arrive so they [the dealer] would make you take the van away and tell you to bring it back when they are ready. If you have it serviced by another workshop, say an NCC Approved Mobile, then you can still make a warranty claim through your dealer on the production of the service sheet provided by the workshop that carried out the service and found the fault. Many dealers will/make a drama out of it but then that's the dealers for you.
I would seriously recommend that you phone the NCC to clarify the issue.

I agree completely, but I have looked and Black Country are NOT on the 2009 NCC list either - do you know if can I get a copy of the 2008 list somewhere to see if they were on that one???
Many Dealers Are Not NCC Approved workshops as they fly under the banner of the caravan manufacturers. You will also find that many Display a NCC Badge/Logo but they are actually Members of the NCC and not actually NCC Approved Workshops. They are Members of the NCC by virtue of the fact that they Sell caravans. 'NCC Membership' and NCC Approved Workshop status are two totally separate entities.
I can't explain it any better so I would seriously advise that you call the NCC and let them clarify the situation. Other wise you could potentially be spending lots of time and money on unnecessary journeys to the dealers where you bought it.
