just left york and the leaving time was a max of 11am this was written on the board outside, being in a  position of watching arrivals due to where we were pitched,i was amazed at the arrivals coming in from 11.30 am.congestion took on a new meaning.one time there was four caravans and a motorhome waiting to book in.he had no choice but to put them on both sides of the road in lines.the arrivals were non stop for two hours after that.i have known some that book and pay for an extra night so they can leave very late or at will.

I don't mind paying extra to stay later in the day... But I wouldn't be choosing a site that wanted me off at 10am - not for a weekend stop - although it may be fine for a week or longer... Takes us about an hour to strike our tent and pack it away... Plus time for packing away the bedding and other bits... You pays your money you makes your choice... Agree with earlier posts... If you don't like the 10am departure, don't stop at that site...

10am is too early, but i must say in almost 20 years of camping and caravanning i have never been asked to leave because i'm still there after the set leaving time.

We've been away again this weekend and didn't leave the site til 9pm, we asked if it was ok and was told "of course it is" and did we have to pay any extra? Nope. It's basic good customer relations, we use the site a lot and one reason is their flexibility.

I frequent a site like that, it's a CL, but have got to know the owners very well, I usually arrive at 8am too as am often working.

There's never a problem or request for extra payment whatever time I arrive or leave.
