Hi

We are considering upgrading from a Ranger 550/6 to a triple bunk arrangement and have looked at both of these.

Hate the dark wood of the Pageant but what practically does it offer above the Ranger 540/6 or G60?

Think I am right in saying the G60 has a microwave which the ranger 540/6 doesn't but I don't know whether the extra for the Pageant is money well spent or unnecessary.

Has anybody got 1 or other or experience of both to offer some advice?

Would love a Senator but can't justify cost and would have to change car too!

Thanks

We are awaiting delivery of a GT60 540/6.  I looked at the Pageant too but didn't like the dark wood.  I didn't take a lot of notice of the pageant as i didn't like the dark wood so can't really compare the 2 but will tell you that the extra's on the GT60 really made the difference to us.  It has an alko stabiliser hitch and alko suspension which if we were to have fitted (as we certainly would) would cost £440 just for the alko hitch.  So at £700 more than the basic Ranger definetly seemed worth it to us.  It has the extra plug socket in the kids bedroom with tv aerial point there too.

Are there any dealers near you that have all 3 on show?  We were lucky in that we could go from Bailey to Bailey to pick out the one we wanted lol.  Have you looked at the brochures to compare the difference's in the 2 to see what feature's you want/like?

If the Pageant didn't have dark wood i still don't think that i would go for it as for that extra money for it hasn't been well spent on adding the alko hitch so i'd have to pay extra for that to be fitted.  I much prefer the look of the GT60 and was really pleased that i didn't like the Pageant as it really would have cost so much more lol

hope my rambling helps :)

Well we have  just changed  from a 550/6 to the 540/6 GT60 and we where like you didnt know what to do, but we made the right decision in getting the GT60 we had our first outing in it this week end and it was superb no faults as previous people have reported and it deffo tows better for some reason, maybe becouse of the alko stabiliser. All in all i made the right decision for sure. Just wondering where to go next week end now.

Hi

Thanks for replies - think its def between the GT60 and the pageant but need to see exactly what you get in each to decide for sure.

Have now seen the adria altea triple bunk with bathroom at the back next to bunks and the small dinette back halfway down the van. Wish I could try them all out for a weekend before deciding!!

I couldn't have the kids in the same room as me at night.  I need to have that door between me and them otherwise i'd not get my much needed "privacy"  .  And i could for added privacy leave the bathroom door open so that i had 2 doors between us 17.  But if that doesn't bother you... 17

I thought that the Bretagne didn't have the alko hitch but it does, sorry

Have you got the brochure's to compare the 2?

Love our GT 540/6 got it in February, been away a few times (not enough for my liking) and next month we're off to France for a fortnight. can't wait.

We looked at the Pageant, didn't really take much notice of the dark wood, but we did feel that on balance it was perhaps a fraction on the heavy side for our car.  Whereas the GT60 was only 50kg heavier than our old Ranger 550/6.

Our kids (6&4) love their bedroom and the bottom bunk is excellent for the storage of all manner of bits and bobs that we take with us.

We're reallly very happy with our choice, great van, love it, love it !
