Ahh now butchers - Sheridans in Ballater for game and pies, in fact their game pie is even better than homemade.
We are lucky in this part of the country to have some very good "real" butchers who prepare their own meat rather than just buy in from wholesales.
Best bacon in the country has to be from Browns in Aberlour.
Part of the fun of caravanning has to be trying out local food from local suppliers.
And of course we then get onto our bakers!!!!!!
ooohhh I can hardly wait now. We are heading to Brora in a couple of weeks and have arranged an overnight stop near Edinburgh just to stock up on sausages, bacon and fruit pudding etc with maybe room for a pie or two.

sorry didnt get back to you lex the a941 is not advisable pretty bad around dufftown and craigellachie go up past rhynie on the A97 for huntly then the A96 until inverness then onto the A9 north over the kessock bridge about 5 mile after the bridge the dualcarraige way ends at a roundabout at tore you will take the second exit the A835 all the way to ullapool the scenary is to dye for you will only encounter a couple of hills about 5 miles from ullapool i bit steep but you will be going down them and up on the way home they cant be avoided as it is the only way in to ullapool so i hope you have a great time BEWARE THE MIDGES
