Hello all

Does anyone have any experience of buying a van with a personal loan /finance still associated with it. i.e. if someone has taken a personal loan / finance to buy a van then they sell it on are they still then liable for that loan and what happens if they then default on that loan - can the original loan company come after the van once its been sold on?

Please advise

I had this on a van I was looking at, asked for a settlement figure for the HP so I could pay that separately and found it was more than the van was selling for.

Walked away as I couldn't be sure they would pay off the balance and the HP company would then chase me or claim the van.

Only two days to go for yours though - are you going to collect also?

Glad your not getting rid, I was starting to panic then!

We got the Gas bbq plug thing, external electric plug added, thats about it, they wouldn't negotiate much as they are so discounted anyway, And it already came with a heki,

I should be going with Nedra to collect the van, providing the cheque is cleared for the old van by wednesday afternoon, otherwise she will have to go and get it thursday on her own, as she finishes work early all this week. I only work part time but Have to work all day thursdays  so it may be a case of me meeting her at the storage but I hope not as thats all part of the fun collecting it together.

Wednesday will be Mad, The car has to go for its MOT at 11 o clock so I hope it passes, then as soon as that comes back we will be off to Northampton to get it,

Getting very excited though now, Will let you know how it goes.
