I think you'll find the white with a red streak is actually white with an orange streak ? If so white /orange is earth (-) and brown/blue is the positive (+) . At least it is on my 2009 swift !

CDG - Yes i do have the thetford fridge with the readout . Can't remember the error codes but doubt its anything to do with defrosting . My manual is in the van which isn't stored at home so cant tell you for sure . Does anyone else know what code 8 indicates ? I will have a look at thetfords website perhaps they'll be a guide on there ?

Here goes - Code 8 ,

AC mains supply is 20% below nominal power .
Sounds like your not getting full 240v through to the fridge . Or may be your catching the left hand button that cycles through the 3 power modes accidently - easily done when washing pots over the sink . According to the info code 9 is for gas lock out not code 8 ? Gas lockout occurs if the flame fails to ignite after 30 seconds . The only time i have experienced code 9 is when my leisure battery didn't have enough voltage to fire the igniter ? Hope you get it sorted . I'm not impressed with these new fridges far too complicated !

Sorry it must have been code 9 as the gas locked out twice in 48 hrs could have been a drop in batterty volts as we did have the tv and other things going and i didnt have my solar panel connected the right way round as Chads reply enlightened me so now i have corrected that we will see what happens over this weekend ,hopefully it might be down to me ,fingers crossed . I didnt think it was down to the fridge defrosting but couldnt argue till I got some feed back , the thing is it was working ok for about 8 to 10 hrs during the day it happened at nite ,well it was in the morning when we noticed .Anyway thanks will see what happens .
