Behind the wheels - using the holes provided for the Alko spare wheel carrier (our spare is the gas box)

Q2.......How did you get the spirit levels lined up to the horizontal floor of the caravan? at a guess , level the caravan using a small spirit level just inside the door , then bolt the brackets in place on the chassis and set them level when bolting.
I would fix the brackets in the holes already on the alko chassis , and to the behind of the wheels .

One thimng I found in fitting them was the torque specified was quite high and took some achieving lying on my back.  You might have a bit more room around the area on yours.
