I really need your help with choosing an awning... There are so many and I've looked so hard that my brain hurts and I just want someone to tell me what is possible and what they think would be good.
The van is a very small 2-berth and is only 18ft inc a-frame. The awning rail is 228cm from the floor and full awning measurement would be approx 612cm.
We'd like an awning that is big enough to store our bikes when away from the van but is obviously not too big for our van and is also spacious enough to sit in comfortably. We like the idea of the ones you can use the front panels as a sun canopy for those hot days (if they're any good) and also like the idea of the ones that stay attached to the side of the van. There are only two of us, so the bikes don't take up too much room.
I've looked on eBay and there's none that are suitable in our area at all and would prefer to buy new. A lot of awnings seem to accommodate 235-255cm but ours is shorter than that! I don't know how much straight rail there is exactly, I forgot to measure!
Our budget is £200 although might go a tiny bit higher if there's something outstanding you think we should get.
I too suffered as my awning rail is only 215 above the ground. I got a Pyramid Weekender Plus which my dealer let me take home and try on the drive with the promise of a full refund if it didnt. Well - it did. With an annexe on I would say you will have somewhere to store the bikes, and there is enough room for a couple of chairs in the awning without the annexe (I didnt get the annexe).
are yousure about that measurement as we had an avondale leda and it took a normal height awning, i would suggest you re check again as that height would put the internal roof height at around 5ft!!!!
