I have a Fleetwood Volante 560/4 2004 model and on the wheel arches above the tyres I have stickers stating 65PSI that must have been put on by the previous owner. Is this information correct or not as i thought it might be a little high as compared with my previous van.
Whether 65psi is correct or not depends on the total weight of the van and the exact type and size of tyres fitted.
I do know bar one, 65psi is the maximum pressure for 8ply commercial type tyres, being their maximum and assuming the pressure is correct, this means the tyres are fully loaded.
The recomendation from the tyre industry for caravan use is, you should stay 10% below a tyres maximum load to give an extra safety margin.
On my Adria Altea 542 DK 2009 model it has it etched into the wheel arch that the tyre pressure is 65 PSI. It weighs 1300Kg fully loaded. Not had a problem so far (touching wood right now)...

Life is a Roller coaster and we will be on loads this year...
The higher the tyre pressure above the correct pressure, the more the van bounces therefore the more unstable it is to tow and the more the possible damage to the structure.
We do tow fairly light....Only use porch awning instead of full awning and all our clothes and the tv travel in the car so as we tow fairly lightly and I know that you know your stuff I am inclined to take your good advice on this matter.
Our sterling mgw 1300kg or so has manufacturers stickers on the arches stating 45psi the tyres are 8ply C rated/type.
I have always infated to this and never had any probs, even towing to the south of france in searing heat, so much so that I couldn't touch the tyres they were that hot! and I used to worry when they got warm over here!!!
