There once was a tin of baked beans...they travelled in the caravan...once set up and the cupboard was open...they decided to jump....out of the cupboard they fell...onto the kitchen worktop....now what a lovely dint they made...thankfully we are insured...whole new worktop...£500.00 + labour, my tins are now stored over the bed area! I dont think I will ever buy baked beans again...
My coffee canister did this and as it had a metal clip opener it put a hole in my worktop. That was on my old van though we just filled it and put a mini worktop saver over it!!Those holders in towsure are good for keeping things steady.
------------- Jan:Braids Gretna, Feb Stanwix Park Silloth & Braids Gretna,
We move all tins large cups etc from top lockers to storage box's while towing after a large mug fell and damaged our worktop. it takes two minutes to put them back when onsite.
Sugar in a plastic container with a lid, that fell out of our top cupboard and of course the lid came off and it went everywhere, our then Dustbuster was not capable of sucking it up and the site wardens were verykind and lent us their "Henry" which did an admirable job. Cans always go in the low cupboards.

I have three sides, left, right and wrong - which one are you on?
my oh solved this ages ago travelling days she makes sure every thing is in the cupboard and fill cupboard with the pillows off the bed nothing can then move when you open cupboard nothing has moved no holes so to speak
I was once told of a bottle of wine left by accident in a caravan locker above a kitchen counter. During the journey the bottle ejected itself from the locker. The owner of the van discovered it imbedded in the counter, neck down. It had punched a neat, round hole and was standing there, upside down but unbroken.
------------- * You never know where you're going 'til you get there...
The only things I carry in the top lockers above the kitchen area are the plates and things, which are plastic except for the mugs. They're in a rack but I wedge a piece of 1" foam in front of each rack because the cups, in particular, tend to bounce around during travelling.
Never had this problem because I don't keep tins in the van but I like the idea of a pillow or bit of foam to keep my tea, sugar and coffee cannisters in the cupboard. Guess I have been lucky up to now!!! :)
That happened with our old van, fortunately just a little dent so I went to homebase and bought a £5 colour match laminate floor repair kit and some filler, filled it then patch repaired with laminate floor repair and mixed it to the right speckled colour
Couldn't even notice it whjen done, Must get some of those towsure tie back things though,
------------- Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.
Keep the beans low! all our heavy tins go in a box over the axle on the floor, when on site we put them away, all them tins add up to around 15kg!!
We also have 'travel boards' simple bits of bendy plastic that bend and wedge infront of the items in the cupboards when travelling so if the door pops open the sugar stays put!!
